Default TO ARMY SECRETARY PETE GEREN

For commissioning and now committing to act on the recommendations of an independent commission that examined how the Army acquires and manages outsourced contractor services for food, interpreters, communications, equipment repair and other critical services in Iraq, Kuwait and Afghanistan. Its report confirmed the secretary’s fears: The Army is not properly staffed, trained or structured to manage these huge and complex contracts. “The overwhelming majority of our contracting workforce is doing an outstanding job, but we must do a better job of organizing, resourcing and supporting them,” Geren said. To that end, he has promised a prompt response and follow-through on the commission’s recommendations and plan for the way ahead.

The fact that the Army is not properly staffed in any way shape or form at this point in time, not to mention all the other ways in which it is not being supported, is no surprise to me.
When all the Republican members of the military voted for Bush twice, and the members of the F.B.I., and the members of the CIA, all voted to elect and re-elect the Republicans, I knew they were voting for the "kiss of death".
And, I have been right, oh so sorrowfully. All these people were voting for their own destruction. And, they had no clue.
They believed that this President had their own interest at heart. Oh, Lord, he didn't . And, doesn't.
What now? Here all the military is left with death, destruction, and Republicans claiming that veterans should have no medical insurance or anything else. After all, folks, they were volunteers? They volunteered to protect this country, well, they can certainly volunteer to take care of their
own war wounds. Forever. Forever.
If the reader detects an amount of bitterness in these remarks, the reader will be right. I am outraged at the way these Republicans have treated and are treating our military people.....all the way....from refusing to supply them with what is needed in the field to what they need when they come home.
And, most horribly of all, Iraq was an unnecessary war conducted by oil men to achieve profits and try to fulfill their own vision of World dominiance of all oil resources and water resources and the world itself. Complete folly.
Only at the expense of thousands and thousands and thousands of lives.
Not the least of which are out own dearly beloved military people.
