Default Insurgents in Afghanistan have mastered media manipulation

U.S. officers in Afghanistan are increasingly concerned at the Taliban’s use of “information operations” to pressure the Afghan government into placing constraints on coalition operations. They say that the Taliban’s propaganda is eroding support for the coalition in Afghanistan and abroad.

Do you mean that someone has finally figured out what war "the other guys" are fighting?

Like Vietnam, the US military is winning the war that it is fighting and the US government is losing the war that "the other guys" are fighting. Also like Vietnam, "the other guys" can truthfully say "We'll still be here when the Americans go home - and the Americans are going to go home, eventually." while the US government cannot truthfully say "We'll be here longer than "the other guys" will be here.".
